Science always changes. It's finding out new things and correcting old theories constantly. Evolution and the big bang are only theories.
At Youth Club we teach that we can believe the Bible and all that God tells us through it.
Genesis 2 says God made a day of rest for the human race. God Himself rested on the seventh day. This is the cycle of life God gave us because we need it. It's not good for the body to work seven days a week... Our bodies break down. We need the day of physical, mental, psychological and Spiritual rest. Man has often tried to change this.
Sunday was made for us. Do we keep a day of rest and for God? We shouldn't stop doing everything, it is good to help those who need help, and look after those who need looking after, including ourselves. But it is a day set aside for rest.
God also gave the task of working the garden to Adam. God meant us to work and be usefully employed to support ourselves. God has instituted work and when we work we are obeying God. It's good for a man to work and support his family. Men must have things to do to live a fulfilling life. Also women are to be busy with life and work. Work is important for us all. It is good for us to work. God gave us work and rest.
God made a woman to be a suitable companion for Adam. He created us and ordered it so that men and women should be married. One man and one woman married for life is a God given blessing, a new beginning for the married couple, a brand new existence. Every culture around the world has marriage - it was given to humankind at creation.
The family unit is good for a nation. Where the family unit breaks down in a land, the nation suffers.
God also commanded them both not to eat from the tree of "the knowledge of good and evil". It was a kind of test. They had the whole garden but were forbidden to eat of this tree. Genesis 3 explains what happened next!
