Here is the big event of Jesus ascending into Heaven. It would have been an amazing sight, but the important thing is not how, but why He went up into Heaven.
Jesus had proven He was God on earth and His work was complete. He is now interceding with God on our behalf. God is Holy, without sin, pure. Nothing that is stained by sin can come into the presence of God. We can't talk to Him, we can't pray to Him and ultimately we can't enter Heaven.
When someone wrongs us we think it's fair to expect to be compensated for at least the damages done. That would be fair. So, what about our wrong against God? How do we compensate for our wrong, our sinfulness. Jesus is the only way. Jesus died in our place taking the punishment for our sin and can therefore go to God as forgiven in our place. Jesus talks to God for us because He is now our Holiness.
Jesus is now in Heaven preparing us a place in eternity if we are trusting on Jesus as the only way we can be Holy enough to enter Heaven.
